    Uganda terletak di Afrika Timur bersempadanan dengan Kenya, Sudan, Congo, Tanzania dan Rwanda. Ibu negaranya adalah Kampala. Kerajaannya adalah republik berdemokrasi. Ia mendapat kemerdekaan daripada United Kingdom pada 9 Oktober 1962. Ia mempunyai kira-kira 32 juta orang penduduk. Ia menggunakan matawang Shilling (UGX).

    Muka Depan

    Di sebelah kiri wang terdapat lukisan seorang lelaki yang sedang mengcangkul tanah di kebun pisang.  Terdapat juga lukisan dua pokok pisang di belakangnya. Nilai muka wang 1000 ditulis di setiap penjuru wang. Di atas pula terdapat perkataan BANK OF UGANDA. Manakala di tengah-tengah pula terdapat jata negara Uganda serta perkataan ONE THOUSAND SHILLINGS dan SHILLINGI ELFU MOJA. Tanda tangan gabenor terletak di bahagian bawah perkataan. Terdapat juga lambang Bank Uganda di sebelah kanan bawah wang.  

    Muka Belakang

    Di tengah wang terdapat gambar sebuah kilang dan dua buah lori. Di atas pula terdapat perkataan BANK OF UGANDA. Nombor 1000 pula di setiap penjuru wang dan perkataan ONE THOUSAND SHILLINGS serta SHILLINGI ELFU MOJA di bawah nombor di kanan atas wang.
