    Uganda terletak di Afrika Timur bersempadanan dengan Kenya, Sudan, Congo, Tanzania dan Rwanda. Ibu negaranya adalah Kampala. Kerajaannya adalah republik berdemokrasi. Ia mendapat kemerdekaan daripada United Kingdom pada 9 Oktober 1962. Ia mempunyai kira-kira 32 juta orang penduduk. Ia menggunakan matawang Shilling (UGX).


    Muka Depan

    Di sebelah kiri wang terdapat lukisan tugu peringatan. Nilai muka wang 1000 ditulis di kanan atas serta kiri bawah wang serta ditulis secara menegak di sebelah kanan. Di kiri atas pula terdapat perkataan BANK OF UGANDA. Manakala di tengah-tengah pula terdapat jata negara Uganda serta perkataan ONE THOUSAND SHILLINGS dan SHILLINGI ELFU MOJA di bawahnya. Tanda tangan gabenor terletak di tepi  jata. Terdapat juga lambang Bank Uganda di sebelah kanan bawah wang. Tanda tangan setiausaha terletak di sebelahnya.

    Muka Belakang

    Di tengah wang terdapat gambar sekumpulan antelope. Di depannya pula terdapat gambar peta negara Uganda. Nombor 1000 pula di bahagian kanan atas dan kiri bawah wang dan perkataan ONE THOUSAND SHILLINGS serta SHILLINGI ELFU MOJA di kanan bawah. BANK OF UGANDA pula dicetak di sebelah nombor di kanan atas. Di sebelah kanan wang terdapat gambar lukisan patung ukiran puak di Uganda.
