    Madagascar merupakan negara pulau yang terletak di Lautan India di sebelah tenggara benua Afrika. Ia merupakan pulau yang ke-empat terbesar di dunia.  Madagascar mendapat kemerdekaan daripada France pada 26  Jun 1960. Ibu negaranya adalah Antananarivo. Ia mempunyai kira-kira 20.6 juta orang penduduk. Ia menggunakan matawang Ariary (MGA).


    Muka Depan

    Di muka depan wang terdapat gambar perkampungan di atas bukit serta pintu gerbangnya. Di atas wang terdapat perkataan ROAN-JATO manakala di bawahnya pula terdapat perkataan BANKY FOIBEN'I MADAGASIKARA. Nilai muka 200 ARIARY dicetak di bahagian kanan dan kiri bawah wang. Dicetak juga perkataan 1000 FRANCS yakni nilai muka sebelum Ariary digunakan di Madagascar.


    Muka Belakang

    Di belakang wang terdapat gambar Aloalo, tugu peringatan yang terdapat di kubur-kubur orang  terhormat Mahafaly bagi memperingati kematian dan jasa mereka. Di atas wang terdapat perkataan BANKY FOIBEN'I MADAGASIKARA serta perkataan ROAN-JATO ARIARY di bawahnya. Nilai muka 200 ARIARY dicetak di bahagian kanan atas dan kiri bawah wang. Dicetak juga perkataan 1000 FRANCS yakni nilai muka sebelum Ariary digunakan di Madagascar.
