    Pulau Galapagos merupakan kepulauan gunung berapi yang terletak di Lautan Pasifik, 972km dari barat Ecuador. Galapagos menjadi daerah dalam negara Ecuador pada tahun 1973. Ia mempunyai kira-kira 23 ribu orang penduduk dan Spanish merupakan bahasa rasmi. Ia menggunakan matawang Ecuadorian Sucre (ECS), walaubagaimanapun Sucre telah pun ditamatkan penggunaannya di Ecuador dan diganti dengan USD kerana kejatuhan ekonomi pada tahun 2000.


    Muka Depan

    Di muka depan wang terdapat gambar seekor iguana yang terdapat di Galapagos. Di atasnya pula terdapat perkataan MIL NUEVOS SUCRES dan Archipiélago de Colón serta OFICINA INTERCAMBIARA DE ULTRAMAR DEL ANTARTICO di bawahnya. Nilai muka 1000 dicetak di bahagian kanan bawah wang. Tandatangan terdapat di bahagian kiri di bawah lambang bulat yang mempunyai gambar Darwin.


    Muka Belakang

    Di tengah wang terdapat gambar yang tidak dapat dikenal pasti (?) serta seekor camar laut yang berada di atas batuan di belakangnya yang dilukis secara menegak. Di atasnya pula terdapat perkataan ISLAS GALAPAGOS serta nilai muka 1000 di sebelah kanan atas. Jata Galapagos pula dicetak di tengah wang. Tarikh keluaran wang iaitu 12 FEBRERO 2009 di bahagian tengah wang di sebelah jata (wang dilihat secara menegak).
